Shopping for a New School Year
It’s almost time for a new school year. I have a little over a week left before staff heads back to work. That means setting up my therapy room for my 8th year as an SLP (7th as a primarily school-based SLP). I must admit that in the past few years, I’ve significantly reduced the amount of money I spend on work related purchases. There are; however, things that I definitely purchase at the beginning of every year. If you’ll be a CF this coming year, you might want to check this list out!

Here are the things I always buy:
- Big pack of mechanical pencils: I use pencils to take data, do assessments, and my students also love using these.
2. Big pack of glue sticks and bottles: Certain crafts that I do work better with the bottle kind of glue, so I always make sure to have both types on hand.
3. Crayons and markers: Nothing like a fresh pack of these to get your school year started off on the right foot! I generally need to replace these at least once during the year.
4. Dry erase markers: I like to have a few different colors on hand.
5. Sticky notes: I use these all the time for different things, such as keeping tabs on evaluations.
6. Laminating pouches: I always have a pack of these on hand for my products or things that I buy from others.
7. Pens: I like to have black and blue ballpoint pens on hand (I hate gel pens).
8. Slime: I use this as a reinforcer for almost all my students. They LOVE working for this!
9. Play-Doh: I always gets a fresh pack!
10. Whiteout: I use this a lot for various reasons throughout the year.
These are the 10 things I always buy at the beginning of the school year! What do you buy?
