Blow Some Bubbles!

Sometimes, you just have to blow some bubbles! I decided to forgo my carefully laid plans with my preschoolers this week. I’ve done bubbles before with my students, but not in awhile. On a whim, I asked if they wanted to blow some bubbles. They eagerly said yes, so I pulled out my no-spill bubbles.
I got SO much language! They were stringing 3+ words and imitating easily, whereas sometimes they have difficulty sustaining attention. Among other things, I targeted:
-up/down/under
-blow more bubbles
-my turn
-big bubble
-little bubble
-I got one, two
-pop it on my ____ (works on body parts)
It was a great way to have some fun and I got so much language, I might have to add some bubble time to the end of every session! Don’t forget about all the fun you can have with just a simple item! These are the bubbles I have:
Do you use bubbles in your sessions?
Bubbles are magical! I also find that when I am not getting anywhere with a kiddo…bubbles do the trick! During evaluations for three year olds (who I’ve never met before), bubbles quickly help the child to warm up. Great reminder that sometimes it’s the simplest things that work the best!
Thanks Tara!
Bubbles are such a great ice-breaker when you first start seeing a preschooler! I seem to use it quite a bit in early stages, then phase them out.
I agree – I used to use them a lot more, but I haven’t pulled them out in awhile!
