Easy Low Prep Monster Craft
Happy Thursday everyone! Today, I’m sharing an easy, on the fly therapy craft that I thought of during a session with a busy preschooler this week. He was talking about a monster, and I decided to use it to my advantage.
We went on a little field trip to the supply closet and got paper in the colors he selected. Then we drew eyes (he requested three), a nose, and a mouth. We added hair in his color choice. I then cut out part of the mouth and wrote some words with his target sounds on pieces of paper. We then proceeded to spend the rest of the session feeding the monster. Then he took that monster and the cards home for more practice!
For some of the kids we taped the monster onto a file folder and I cut out the mouth. This way it would stand up and the kids had fun feeding the monster that way too.
I loved that it was easy and fun. I actually did a different version today with a 1st grader who also loved it! Sometimes it’s the super easy crafts like these that are the best!
