Easy Wreath Craft
Today I’m sharing an easy craft that’s perfect for December. It also has a fine motor aspect, which is great for a lot of kids (my own included). We’ve been trying to do more fine motor practice with my daughter because it’s an area of weakness for her. We did this craft over Thanksgiving and she loved it, so I thought I’d share!
First, you need felt wreaths, tacky glue, and pom poms – I got all of these things at Michael’s. I recommend tacky glue because it is stronger than Elmer’s glue. The wreaths that I got were actually held together by red ribbons, which I actually just tied to the top in order to hang it up. You could also just use a hole punch at the top and other ribbon.
I put little dots of tacky glue on the wreath (but you could have the child help with this part too). Then have the child chose pom poms and place onto the dots of glue. To add in fine motor practice, you can have them pick up the pom poms with tweezers (I just didn’t bring any with me).
She was so proud of it when it was done and we added it to our holiday decorations!
It was a quick craft, but kept her attention. I plan to do this same craft with my kids at school too!
