Lightening Round
Today I’m sharing a quick therapy tip that I discovered this week that I named Lightening Round!
First, you need to download Pronoun and Verb Popsicle Sticks (it’s free!) from my store.
I laminated and cut out the circles, but decided not to put them on popsicle sticks. I decided to play a game with my 1st graders. I laid out all the circles face down. They took turns producing sentences (one was working on pronouns/present progressive verbs, the other was working on pronouns/has and have – it worked well for both). If produced correctly, they kept the circle.
Towards the end of the session, I collected all the circles and told them we were going to play a lightening round. I said I would show them one of the cards and whoever could raise his/her hand first could answer. They LOVED it. It was highly motivating! So grab the freebie and play a lightening round of your own!
AWESOME!!! I have a couple of students this would be perfect for!
Great to hear!
Simple and simply perfect! I LOVE low tech!
This is a great idea! I love activities that are good for mixed groups. Thanks so much!
