Musical EETchy Steppers!
Disclaimer: Materials were provided to me; however, the opinions expressed are solely my own.
A couple weeks ago, I posted my first review of the EET. If you missed that, head here to read it! Sara was gracious enough to include the EETchy Steppers, which are quickly becoming a favorite for my students. She provides some ideas to use these, and I modified one the other day because my students were fidgety.
One of the provided ideas is to put the steppers on chairs and play musical chairs. I altered this a little because I don’t have that much space, plus I wanted the kids up and moving as much as possible. I laid them out in a circle and told the students they would be walking around while I played music. When the music stopped, they needed to provide whatever attribute matched the stepper they were on. I told them the object in advance.
Results?? Increased motivation. One student in particular sometimes has trouble formulating thoughts in a timely manner, but this combination of movement seemed to improve that.
I hope you try this idea out, in addition to the ones that Sara provides!
