My Best Organization Tips

Let’s talk organization! Today I’m going to share my best organization tips for paperwork and materials.

Data Binder: I have a binder to store all my data logs in. I use dividers to separate out grade levels.

Medicaid billing: It’s a necessary thing if you work in the schools. So how do I stay on top of it? On my lunch (because who actually eats lunch leisurely?), I log for the morning kids. In the afternoon when I’m done seeing kids, I log for the afternoon kids. This system has worked really well for me. It prevents it from stacking up. More on this here.

Therapy planning: I plan monthly. At the end of the month, I prep for the coming month by prepping and gathering all the materials I need. They are housed in a crate and separated by week. More on this here

Hanging organizer: I stick upcoming/ongoing evaluations in a 5 pocket hanging organizer. This way, I know what still has to be done.

Tame the piles: Before I leave each day, I organize any paperwork on my desk and my therapy table. Fixing and recapping markers, cleaning my whiteboard, cleaning the table, etc. I feel much better if I walk into an organized space the next morning.

Easy access bin: I’m going to get something bigger at some point , but I keep the week’s materials in a plastic bin that stays on my therapy table.

Rolling plastic drawers: These are for my non-seasonal materials. I have one drawer for articulation and two for language. I will need another set soon, because this one is filling up very quickly. This way I can just rifle through and get what I need and the materials are seasonally limited.

Book crate: I keep all my non-seasonal books in a bin so I can just rifle through and grab what I want.

I hope these tips help you get and stay organized!
