Peek At My Week 11/16

I don’t generally do 2 posts in 1 day, but it’s Sunday and my 2 year blogiversary, so it’s also time for Peek At My Week. I’m really loving planning for a month at a time, because it’s streamlining my life and decreasing the amount I’m doing at home.
Autism: I’m using this My Hungry Turkey mini-book, as well as Turkey Trouble for some of the kids – see below for a link.
K-2nd: We’re reading Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano. It’s a cute story about a turkey who is trying to escape being the main course for Thanksgiving. It’s similar to Run, Turkey, Run from last week. My 1st and 2nd graders will be comparing and contrasting the books. We will be working on answering questions, story retell, etc.
We will also be doing an easy handprint turkey craft, similar to the one seen here (without the candy corn). I’m going to have the kids trace their hand and color it in like a turkey. If they’re artic only, we’ll write words with their sounds. I didn’t have time to prep a big craft this week, so this will have to do!
3rd-5th: I’m using the following things this week, images link to where you can go to get each item!
The First Thanksgiving mini-book from Education to the Core
A Feast of Turkey Topics from Speech Snacks:
Turkey Dot page as a reinforcer:
A nonfiction passage from Nicole Allison’s Nonfiction Texts:

I used “My Hungry Turkey” 2 weeks ago. “Turkey Trouble” sounds cute; I’m going to add it to my list!
