Peek At My Week 1/18

Hi all! It’s a 4 day week for us with a holiday on Monday! Here is what I have planned for this week:
K-2nd: The book this week is The Hat by Jan Brett. I printed out animal cards from here in order to have them on hand for sequencing during and after the story. I plan to have the kids make a hat using half a paper plate (similar to this one). I found a YouTube video of Jan Brett explaining her inspiration for writing The Hat – it’s really cute! I think I’ll show this at the end of my sessions.

3rd-5th: My older kids are using Maureen’s (The Speech Bubble SLP) Vocabulary Intervention Kit – I’m starting this with my 5th graders first, post about that coming soon. I’m also using the Snow theme from S.A.L.L. for ALL: Winter and making snowflakes to decorate the room. The Snow theme includes activities for synonyms/antonyms, prepositions, categories, following directions, articulation, plus nonfiction passages and fictional stories. More than enough for this week!
Autism: I’m also using portions of the January Mystery product! You can see one part up in my plans (hint, hint). They are going to be doing the hat craft as well, but I’m cutting out shapes from different colored paper, so we can work on requesting shapes and colors. I’m using another A-Z book from Super Power Speech as well.
Excited about the activities planned for the week! I decided to do a giveaway today as well, so check my Facebook page for details about that!
The Vocabulary Intervention Kit looks really good! I just bought the January Mystery; I’m so glad you decided to do it again this month. I think it’s your best one yet!
Thank you for your purchase Mary!
