Possessives: his, her, their, our, your, mine. Kids tend to learn “mine” pretty early on! The others can take some work though.
Here are some toys and games that can help your students learn possessives:
1. Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head: Work on his and her and play at the same time!
2. Super Duper Possessives Fun Deck: not a toy or game, but a great resource when trying to teach this skill!
3. Melissa and Doug Magnetic Dress Up: I love Melissa and Doug toys! These cute magnetic dolls can help you target his/her.
4. Puppets: Use either people or animals. With animals, you can target things like “cat’s, dog’s, tiger’s.”
Those are some ideas of toys/games you can use to target possessives! Stay tuned for the next installment of this series!
