Save Those Containers!
If you’re an SLP, you likely do this already. Trash is NOT trash. Your significant others will quickly learn to save lots of things and send them your way.
I will tell you why we do this….or why YOU should start if you don’t do it already! Empty containers make great organizational tools. My husband traveled to London awhile ago and he brought home some chocolate. In this very nice, plastic, heavy duty container. It was on the trash pile until I told him not to throw it away.
You can store lots of things – TpT cards, little manipulatives, artic cards, etc. I haven’t yet decided what I’m going to do with the above container, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out.
Other containers you should consider saving:
-plastic ice cream containers (I use mine for markers, crayons, glue)
-pillowcase pockets (I hang my on the wall for sorting)
-any plastic containers with lids
-egg cartons (great for crafts or sorting)
-tissue boxes (make monsters or animals out of them, kids can feed cards to it)
-anything really!
You’ll never look at trash the same way again! 🙂
