STEM Toy for Speech Therapy

I’m popping in today to share a newer toy I got over the summer that has proven to be a huge hit in speech sessions. It’s a STEM toy which I love.

You put together the green base plates to make a bigger square. The start is the flatter star and the finish is the star with the basket. You will be winding up the squirrel to go through the route to drop the acorn in the basket. There are different pieces (orange, blue, purple) to make the route.

Speech/language skills you can target:

-articulation: do a certain number of trials and give them a piece to put down

-following directions: give directions to pick up a specific colored piece

-sequencing: first put the orange piece in, next put the purple piece in, etc.

-prepositions: put the squirrel on the yellow star
