Where To Find Low Cost Speech Therapy Materials
If you’re a pediatric SLP, you generally are always on the hunt for new speech therapy toys and games. And it’s the best when you can find them at low costs because you can easily spend a small fortune on them.
I’m going to share my favorite places to look for toys and games!
- Local Buy Nothing Facebook groups: If you have a local Buy Nothing group, you can often find people giving away free toys. You can also post a “wish” asking for specific toys and someone might have exactly what you’re looking for.
- Facebook Buy and Sell groups: There are many speech therapy buy and sell groups. Be careful of scams though, particularly with assessments.
- Thrift stores: Sometimes you can find gems here, but it can be very hit or miss. I’ve gotten a lot of books at thrift stores.
- Schools: if you work at a school or know someone who does, see if teachers are retiring or want to give away things. The beginning and end of the school year are prime times for this.
- Yard sales: Check local yard sale groups to see if you hit the jackpot on anything!
