Who is the face behind Teach Speech 365?

I’ve blogged for a little over 5 years now. And for 5 years, I’ve managed to stay anonymous. This was my choice initially for a variety of reasons, but it worked for me in the beginning and has been working. But I think it’s now time to reveal who I really am. I want to give you a face behind the blog. It’s a new year and this year I want to do something different. It’s all about stepping outside of your comfort zone right?

Allow me to finally introduce myself. My name is Nikki Hunjan. I live in Northern Virginia with my husband, Jay, and almost 22 month old daughter, Emma. I did my undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Buffalo in New York. I grew up in a small town outside Syracuse, NY. This is my 8th year as an SLP and thus far, I’ve lived and worked in Pennsylvania and Maryland before moving to Virginia. I have experience in both schools and private practice and I’ve worked with ages 2-adults (though the majority of my practice has been with the pediatric population).

I want to get to know people who read my blog and/or use my activities on a deeper level. You all have been a huge reason why I’ve met personal goals and have given me the drive to continue to grow and learn in this ever-changing field.

So although giving up my anonymity is incredibly terrifying, I hope it will lead to bigger and better things. I hope that I can continue to get to know my followers and bring you more engaging activities and easy therapy ideas. To start, I created a closed Facebook group called SLP 365Β (<—- click if you want to join or search it on FB to join), where I will be sharing organization tips, freebies, therapy ideas, and more.

Stay tuned all week for some fun giveaways (on Instagram and Facebook)!
