2018 Reflections + 2019 Resolutions
Each year, I make a habit to reflect on the current year and make a few resolutions for the next year. My post for this year can be found here.
To recap, I’m going to reflect on my 2018 goals:
- Make it to at least one ASHA, either the schools or the one in November. This didn’t happen unfortunately, so it’ll be a goal for this coming year.
- My husband and I would really like to buy a home, so we’ll be working on this one. Accomplished! We bought a townhouse in May.
- Do more evidenced based practice research. Ongoing – this is something that I’m always trying to do more of.
- Make some more “me” time. Ongoing – as a full time working mom, I struggle to find balance with this. I really have to work harder at this one.
- Make memories with my family. Accomplished! Recently, I’ve made a gingerbread house with my daughter, which she absolutely loved! We went on a mini beach vacation. As my daughter has gotten older, we’ve gotten to do some other really fun things with her. She loves to dance and sing now, which is so funny. She’s talking more and we laugh almost daily at some of the things she says.
So I did fairly well, I think. It’s still a balancing act to be a full time working mom, but my daughter is now a little older and doesn’t require quite as much constant attention. I’ve put more time into my blog and TPT products this year and with revealing my identity this year, I’ve been able to connect with all of you even more which has been awesome!
Onto my 2019 resolutions:
- Get to ASHA.
- Update some of my older TPT resources.
- Take more time for me.
- Meet some SLP bloggers in real life.
- Make memories with my family.
Let me know what your goals are for the coming year!
