Chutes and Ladders Hack

Who has Chutes and Ladders in their therapy room?

4 years ago I wrote this blog post about how there are 37 opportunities on the Chutes and Ladders game board to practice pronouns and verbs. I was playing it with a student again last week and realized you can also work on cause and effect. Look at the characters at the bottom and top of the ladders. With those pairs, the boy/girl completes a task and is happy. Now look at the characters at the bottom and top of the slides. With those pairs, something not so good happens to the boy/girl (i.e. the boy is ice skating and then he falls). You can work on cause and effect too!!! How cool is that?

Comment below if you’ve noticed this too!

  1. I have been using this in therapy for the last 4 years and just a few weeks ago, I finally noticed this too when I student kept commenting on it. So funny, it took that long for me to realize it.
