First Day of Speech Therapy (School-Based)
I’ve officially switched back to being a full time school-based SLP. I’ve had to learn a whole new school building, staff, and caseload! I wanted to share my recommendations for activities for the first day of speech, especially if it’s with a new caseload of kids.
- First Day of Speech poster: I like to use this to get to know kids and then I will usually hang them up. It’s also free!
- My Speech-o-graphy: I’ll often use this to get to know kids if I don’t use the poster.
- When is Your Birthday? activity: This is an activity where kids have to figure out when each kid in the class has their birthday. It can be a nice cooperative activity that’s still language based, plus it’s free!
- Ten for September: This is another free activity that you can use to collect baseline data.
- Welcome Back to Speech Spinner + Mini Book: This reminds your students of their goals and you can get to know your students as well.
