Game Reviews: Kibbit Movers and Kibbit Group It
I recently was given the opportunity to review two new games, Kibbit Movers and Kibbit Group It. These are made by the same person who made Kibbit (it was originally marketed under the name Spingo – and I still use that game often – link below). So now there are two new games!
Kibbit Movers is a game that targets categorization and expressive/receptive language skills. There is a basic version of the game and an advanced version. Below is what the game board looks like. For the basic version, kids roll the die, flip over that number of tiles, and place the items into the correct room. In the advanced version, kids use the blank tiles to fill up the rooms with items. I played the basic version with my daughter (she’s 6.5 years old), and she loved it. It was a great way to work on WH questions, describing, and more. I love that you can even just use the tiles as a way to describe and name items. You could even just use the game board as dollhouse of sorts and play with little people.
Kibbit Group It works on category recognition and naming. There are special cards that make it more like a game (give 1, etc). The object of the game is to be the first person to finish your pile of cards. You’re supposed to flip over the card and name the item and the category. It’s a great way to work on categories and you could use the cards to work on describing too.
Of the two games, I think I’ll use the Kibbit Movers the most. We loved both the games and I’m so happy to have these to add to my therapy arsenal. Links to both games are below:
