It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about new things in my store. But one of my latest was truly a labor of love and is quite large, so I wanted to give my readers a closer look (and an opportunity to win a copy)!

Say hello to S.A.L.L. for ALL: Spring/Summer! If you click on the picture below, you’ll be taken to the listing on TpT, which has a very loooooongggg description.

First, let’s back up and discuss what this packet is. As school based SLPs know, our caseloads can be quite large and quite varied. In my efforts to plan smarter, not harder for this year (and beyond), I looked at my caseload and decided upon the most common goals that I target. Then I decided upon some seasonal, but non-holiday, themes that could be used throughout a particular season. This one is the last in the series (you can check out the fall and winter editions too). There are 4 spring themes and 2 summer themes, since most schools are done sometime in June. There is a document that lists all the CCSS standards that are addressed within the packet.

Each theme varies in what skills are targeted; however, there are 5 constants. In each theme, they are:

  1. an articulation activity (open-ended that can be used with any artic app or card decks)
  2. a low tech communication board and scene for students to work on requesting items
  3. nonfiction passages with comprehension questions
  4. 2 stories with comprehension questions (one for K-2, one for 3-5)
  5. a craft activity

The rest of the activities vary, but are commonly targeted goals like verbs, prepositions, following directions, categories, plurals, describing, synonyms/antonyms, multiple meaning words, etc.

Rain: targets pronouns, has/have, inferences, and WH questions. The craft is open-ended. Students can use the communication board to request items to place on a provided scene.Plus there are 8 nonfiction passages and 2 fictional stories.

Backyard Creatures: Targets categories, prepositions, synonyms, antonyms, and following 1-3 step directions. The craft allows your students to draw an item in the box and then write 3 things about the item. The box is cut out and stapled behind the jar (would make a great bulletin board display). Student use the communication board to request creatures to place in their jar. Plus there are 8 nonfiction passages and 2 fictional stories.
