My Therapy Room Game Staples

I often get asked what my favorite game are, so I decided to dedicate a blog post to it! These are my favorite games that get frequent use in my therapy room.

Here are my favorites:

Cariboo (this one is hard to find, but I’ve managed to find a few at my local thrift store – the picture below is just so you know what the game looks like if you, I do not expect anyone to pay that price!!):

Candyland: My younger students love this game and I love that it’s easy to drill words or practice other skills in between turns.

Guess Where: A twist on the regular guess who – it allows you to work on pronouns and location concepts. It’s apparently super hard to find this game (I got mine at the thrift store), but I found this very similar one for a low price on Amazon:

Lids N Lizards: This one is a favorite among my younger students. Finding the lizards NEVER gets old, and you can even hide other things under the lids, like Dinky Doodads or other small objects.

Pop the Pig/Pop the Pirate: There is something about feeding burgers to this pig and watching his belly pop that makes all my kids want to play over and over again. Same with Pop the Pirate! I love that I can quickly work in drill/tasks in between turns.

Melissa and Doug Cookie Set: This isn’t really a game, but it’s a staple in my room. I can target so many goals, including pronouns (I, you), verbs, sentence formulation, core words, sequencing, describing and more.

These are just some of the games that I HAVE to have in my therapy room. What are yours?
