Recycled “Snow” Globe Activity

This is one of those times that saving those containers comes in handy! Sargento has these delicious fruit/cheese/nut snack packs called Balanced Breaks (I’m not affiliated with Sargento by any means – I just happen to like these products). The containers have separate compartments that look like a yin-yang symbol. Clean them out and save them – and then make this recycled “snow” globe!

What You Need:

-2 Balanced Break containers

-clear packing tape

-instant mashed potato flakes

-little items (I bought letter beads and erasers from Dollar Tree)

Step 1: Put some mashed potato flakes in one container.

Step 2: Add in little items.

Step 3: Cover with another container by lining up flat sides.

Step 4: Use packing tape to seal edges.

You can play “I Spy,” describe items, formulate sentences, etc. The possibilities are endless. I plan on making these with my older AUT students when we go back to school!
