I wanted to share a quick and fun therapy idea with you that has recently become a highly requested activity with my kids. It all starts with a Slamwich game:

If you’re unfamiliar with this game, there are sandwich ingredient cards, number cards and thief cards. I don’t play it the way you’re supposed to for therapy purposes. I similar shuffle and stack the cards in the middle. After we go a round of each student demonstrating their target skill 2-3 times, each can pick a card. If they get a number card, they pick up that number of cards. If it’s an ingredient card, they keep it. If they get a thief card, they have to put all the cards back. I don’t know what it is, but it keeps them highly motivated AND it doesn’t distract from the learning!! Win-win for all!

  1. A co-worker was just recently cleaning out some of her old things and brought this game down to me. The kids really like it.
