Slime = Best Reward
You guys! I found the best reward that seriously all kids on my caseload want to work for! I picked up this slime from the Target Dollar Spot last weekend. I figured it would be a fun treat for some of my kids to use at the end of the session.
I quickly have released that I can get almost all my kids to work for the whole session if I promise to let them squish the slime for 2 minutes at the end of the session. I don’t know what it is, but it works and I’m loving it. If I have a group, I just split it up between the students and let them go to town.
I think I’m going to have to go get more, because it can quickly get kind of gross. But that’s a small price to pay in my opinion. What is your go-to “reward” in your speech room?
One of my best rewards..marbles. Kids love them! I found 2 inexpensive marble race games at AC Moore at 20% off. Only 4.99 to start with before 20%. One is Avengers and one in Ninja Turtles. And a box of 300 assorted marbles at same price. Another is a marble catapult (totally safe)( Marbles on an enclosed track), at Cracker Barrel. You can decide how they earn them, use marbles for description or action words, following directions etc, and concepts.
Marbles are totally another go to!! Speaking of which, I really need to get another marble track…
