Ok friends, summer time is here which means swimsuit season! I’m a little farther from where I’d like to be right now, so here’s a fun workout you can do with a little help from your SLP accessories!! Do this routine twice and you’ll be fit and fab in no time! You can also perform this routine during the school year, using commonly found items in every speech room.

Disclaimer: I’m definitely not a personal trainer. You may want to avoid doing this workout in the company of others. It may earn you strange looks. 😉

Warm up appropriately before attempting this workout. You may choose to do laps around your kidney table.

1. iPad Situps: Grab that iPad and do 15 sit-ups. As you lift your torso up, use those abs and pretend you’re bringing that iPad up to work with one of your students.

2. Articulation Deck Shoulder Press: Grab a couple tins of articulation decks in each hand and press those decks upwards. Use those shoulder muscles and envision your student finally getting the /r/! Do 15 repetitions.

3. Ned’s Head Squats: Grab good ole Ned in both hands and sink down into a squat. Bonus: on the way up, pull something gross out of his ear. Do 15 repetitions.

4. Laminator Twists: Hold your beloved laminator in both hands, sink down into squat position, and twist that laminator from side to side. Focus on your obliques. Imagine a little elf who comes and cuts out everything for you! Do 10 twists to each side for a total of 20.

5. Chipper Chat Lunges: Grab two of those magnetic wands and place one in each hand. Bonus: Dip the wands in the magnetic chips and try to keep all the chips on the wand as you perform the lunges. Do 10 lunges on each side for a total of 20.

6. Cariboo Overhead Press: Get your Cariboo game and hold in both hands. Press it upwards and think about the glee your students show when you pull out this game. Do 15 repetitions.

7. TPT Bicep Curls: Hold any of your favorite TPT cards in each hand and curl upwards, working your bicep. Do 10 repetitions on either side for a total of 20.

8. Bubble Kicks: Hold some bubbles in one hand. Kick your foot forward, as if you’re kicking the wall. After each kick, blow some bubbles. Do 10 repetitions on each leg for a total of 20.

9. Purell Push Ups: Place a bottle of Purell on the floor and get into push up position. As you press down, make sure you almost touch the bottle of Purell. Do 15 repetitions.

10. Mr. Potato Head Tricep Dips: Hold Mr. Potato Head in one hand and kick your arm backwards to work your tricep. Imagine your student requesting pieces and formulating sentences! Do 10 repetitions on each side for a total of 20.

Are you ready for this workout? 🙂
