Summer Books for Speech Therapy

Now that I’m working year round, I’ve been on the hunt for summer themed books to use in therapy. This is a list of the ones I love! *Disclaimer – affiliate links are included – I make a small commission if you purchase using these links.

1. Yikes, I Saw a Barracuda: This one is by my friend Tamara Anderson and it’s a great story that incorporates Caribbean heritage.
2. The Watermelon Seed: This is a fun one for preschool aged students!
3. Jabari Jumps: I love this one for teaching kids how it’s ok to be scared about something, but how good you’ll feel when you accomplish it!
4. Turkey’s Sandtastic Beach Day: Turkey’s back at his shenanigans, but this time it’s at the beach (I also have a no prep companion for this one).
5. Cannonball: This one has a great message about believing in yourself.
