Toddler Activity Bags
A month or so ago, I posted on my Instagram stories that we’re having difficulty taking Emma with us out to eat at restaurants because she hates being stuck in the highchair. That and the fact that she’s just two and it’s hard to wait for much at her age! I decided I was going to put together a bag that I would only let her see when we were out to eat. I decided to share it in case anyone else is having the same issue!
I took myself to the Dollar Tree and Target Dollar Spot and picked up a few things. Crayons, an Elmo coloring book (my daughter’s love for Elmo runs deep right now), these little hopping frogs, cars, etc. See the picture below.
We tested it while my parents were here over Easter weekend. We went to dinner two different times and I brought the bag both times. A picture’s worth a thousand words, so see below:
It worked quite well both times. I was able to keep her occupied while we waited for food by bringing out a different thing if she got bored with what she was playing with. It was a good way to work on vocabulary and language too (colors, etc). I’m excited that we might actually be able to enjoy going out to dinner in the future. I do plan on buying some other things and changing them out every so often. If you have the same issue that I do, please let me know I’m not alone! And try this! I’d love to hear how it worked for you!
