-Peek a Who?: This one is a simple, rhyming book that my daughter can now read by herself. She loves looking in the mirror at the end. It’s an early rhyming book that is short but also has a fun ending.
-First 100 Words: This is a colorful book that has been a favorite for a long time. It teaches basic vocabulary and is very engaging.
-Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? Slide and Find: My daughter loves this spin on this class. Sliding the little doors is so fun! You can work on colors and animals.
-Llama Llama, Red Pajama: We’ve read this one so many times that my daughter can fill in the last words in most of the sentences! The rhyming makes it engaging, and you can discuss feelings (scared, sad) throughout the book.
-If You Give a Cat a Cupcake: This one is my daughter’s favorite and another one that she can fill in the ends of sentences. There are verbs galore in this book.
-Animal Alphabet/Numbers Slide and Seek: These are other slide books that have beautiful illustrations. They are great to start teaching the alphabet and numbers.
-Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed: This classic book has great rhymes and you can discuss cause/effect.
-Where is Elmo?: This book focuses on prepositions and has fun flaps to lift, plus sound effects. We had it in the car for awhile and it kept my daughter entertained.
These are just some of our favorites. Books are one thing that I never think twice about buying because I believe that fostering a love of them early on will help later in life. We do story time every single night before bed for at least 15 minutes and it’s one of my favorite times of day because my daughter is so excited about books. What books are your favorites?
