#SLPsgetreal

Let’s face it, no one is perfect. I love blogging and sharing my therapy ideas on social media, but you can bet I use the best picture out of 4 and don’t share all my “oops” or less than stellar moments. It’s time to change that! It’s time to get real!

So here goes nothing! I’m sharing some of my “get real” moments!

-Almost daily, I feel like an impostor. Like I don’t really know what I’m doing. I doubt myself and my therapy techniques ALL the time.

-Sometimes when I miss a group, I’ll add the kids to another group which  makes it bigger than I usually like. Once when I did this, a couple of the kids just did NOT gel and I spent most of the session refereeing instead of doing therapy.

-I’ve forgotten to make enough copies of something before, so we have definitely gone on a few field trips to the copy room.

-During an observation, I was supposed to be seeing a group of two students but one was absent that day. We ended up finishing the activity early and I was frantically (but calmly on the outside) wracking my brain for something else to fill the last few minutes. I ended up pulling out my sticker maker and we made stickers instead of my planned cut and glue activity because I knew it would take a little longer!

If you want to join in the fun, grab the picture from below or just use the hashtag #SLPsgetreal (tag me on Instagram or Facebook so I can see it too) and share your “get real” moment.
